This May Day we are pulling on our trainers to raise money to support Stand by Me in Ethiopia.
When Milkiyas joined Stand by Me's school in Dembi Dollo, Ethiopia his world changed entirely. He’d had an incredibly difficult start in life and prospects seemed hopeless. After his father passed away, his mother struggled to provide for her family. Stand by Me brought Milkiyas into their care knowing that regular meals, new clothes, shoes and a great education would give him the best chance at thriving… since then he has become top of the class and the school role model!
Any time a child joins Stand by Me's care they work hard to find them a sponsor who will support them but for a number of children in Ethiopia they don’t yet have a sponsor. At the Belfast Marathon we will each be running on behalf of a Stand by Me child who needs a sponsor… every pound raised will go towards meeting the immediate short term needs of these kids. We would love you to support our Marathon effort and Stand by Me in any way you possibly can.
