Anna puts herself in their shoes...

Anna, a school pupil from Northern Ireland, has made it her mission to rescue at least one girl from the hardship and discrimination that girls in India face every day, after hearing about our ‘Rescue Girls’ in India’ appeal. When Anna realised that the girls in our Agape Home in India are similar ages to her and her school friends – she thought of herself in their shoes and decided to take action.

Anna wrote to her school principal asking if she could sell quiz sheets to raise money for Stand by Me. Her principal was fully behind her and was so impressed with her enthusiasm, that Anna was invited to share her plan in her school assembly, making all of the staff and pupils aware of the India appeal. Anna is now also walking part of the Belfast Marathon on 6th May 2013 and she is raising sponsorship for her efforts, with the hope that she will be able to rescue at least one girl!

Good luck Anna and thank you for helping the girls in India.

Stand by Me is a movement of like-minded people just like Anna, passionate about changing the lives of desperately needy children worldwide. We hope Anna has inspired you to think how you could be a part of our India project. For more details visit our India Project page.
